It’s the season of new venues for 1st in Entertainment! Crystal Ridge Golf club in Okotoks has recently opened a new event tent. It’s a nice spot and with a capacity of 300.
If you do decide to book this venue we should mention that the tent is currently wired with a system of extension chords and dimmers, we recommend discussing your electrical requirements with your vendors beforehand. The tent does have a good electrical service but the correct plug needs to be used for DJ services – we needed a long 14 gauge extension chord. Speakers shouldn’t be run off a plug with a dimmer. No one wants the music to shutoff during the first dance when the lights are dimmed.
Some of the event staff suggested wireless battery powered speakers. In our opinion no battery powered PA system is currently suitable for DJ services during a reception – they are better suited for ceremonies. They simply don’t meet the demands of DJ systems that produce professional sound. Quality extension chords are an acceptable solution, they do not interfere with the operation of our speakers.
